Praetorians are chosen from amongst the best of the Karist Enclave's veteran soldiers. Even Tempest Elites strive to be deemed worthy to join the Praetorians. Completely devoted to the Karist way, their discipline and martial prowess serve as an inspiration to other followers as they guard the Enclave's military caste leaders.
Tempest armor is too cumbersome for the role of bodyguard, not allowing for the split-second reactions required to respond to a surprise attack, so Praetorians choose to wear only the trusted standard Karist Trooper armor, though this is often customized and decorated with tabards and sigils to display their elite status.
