The original Maelstrom's Edge V1 rulebook is available for free download in PDF form. here. Note that these rules are significantly different to the V2 rules, and are no longer supported. We wanted to ensure that those who joined us for V1 could still access all of their rules content, but would strongly recommend upgrading to V2!
Maelstrom's Edge V1 uses a card-based force building system, with a card for each different unit and for some special types of models that can be added to other units. You can see individual unit cards in the 'Force Lists' section of the website here, and you can also find printable compilations of the cards for each faction in PDF format below. Weapon profiles and additional information on each unit can be found in the faction summary booklets available here.
'Unofficial' Cards provide different unit options created from conversions and/or third-party models. As such, you should check with your opponent before using them, to make sure they're ok with it and to give them a chance to familiarise themselves with the rules. It also means that, while we have provided various conversion ideas in the 'Hobby' section, you should feel free to use any other suitable models that you may have to hand.
You can find all of the Mission and Objective cards for your Maelstrom's Edge games below. These are broken up into the different types of cards, or you can download the 'Mission & Objective Cards - All Factions' file to get everything in a single PDF. The Competitive Mission and Objective cards are also supplied in the Battle for Zycanthus starter set.
These are the original card versions included in the Battle for Zycanthus box. The original cards have been left here for reference, or for replacing lost or damaged cards if people want to keep using this version, we would recommend using the newer versions in the Force Lists section and PDFs above for the most up-to-date rules.
